Hospice of Siouxland provides comfort and compassion when it is needed the most. The strength of our Hospice program is the result of highly skilled and caring Hospice staff, generous and compassionate volunteers, dedicated medical community and thousands of caring individuals throughout Siouxland and across the country who provide financial support.
Without all of these important team members working together, Hospice of Siouxland would not be able to provide such important care - and continue to strive to go the extra mile to make a difference in the lives of so many.
Services funded through donations:
- Uncompensated Hospice Services
No one is denied Hospice services. People without insurance or means to pay still receive the same compassionate care delivered by our team of skilled professionals and volunteers.
- Palliative Care Services
This service, although not covered by insurance or medicare provides expertise and support to patients and their families faced with an advanced illness. Patients and families that are better informed and have community based support are less likely to be admitted into the hospital in a crisis situation.
- Bereavement Services
Adjusting to the loss of a loved one can be very difficult. Hospice of Siouxland offers the families of our patients 13 months of bereavement support. Our bereavement support also reaches out to help anyone suffering from grief within our community. Community bereavement support includes: monthly educational newsletters, adult grief and growth educational and directed support groups, children and teen grief support groups and Camp Courage, a summer camp for children and teens grieving the loss of a loved one.
